The Tiger Swallowtail is the butterfly of the week . They are laying eggs on ash saplings now and you can try to find the caterpillars but they hide very well. Look for bird droppings on the ash and don’t be surprised if it really is a caterpillar! These are among the largest of butterflies in the U.S.
The Swallowtail winters as a chrysalis on branches and old plant materials, so remember during fall cleanup to check for our butterfly friends.
